45th Anniversary Celebration
Welcome to the webpage of the 45th Anniversary Celebration of Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island West Hong Chi Morninghope School. Our school was founded on 1 April 1979. As we are approaching the 45th year since we were founded, we are honoured to celebrate this special moment with all of you, to review our past success and to look forward to the future. We would like to continue to uphold the mission of the Hong Chi Association to care for the intellectually disabled and share our passion and commitment to education.
Our students have excelled in different areas; the school facilities, curriculum design and the daily school life of our students has been improving. All these are credited to the hard work of all staff members and the support received from parents and the wider community. In the coming future, we continue to strive for a quality education environment and opportunities for whole-person development and to continue to work hand in hand with our parents and the community to help our students achieve their goals. We would like to show our gratitude to everyone who has offered their support to us.
Anniversary mascot:
Our anniversary mascot “Shine” is designed by Mo Mo Chan of P2A and his parent. They were the winners of the RCHC Mascot Design Competition. The idea of the design comes from the proverb “Every cloud has a silver lining.” Shine holds up the gloomy clouds in his hand shadowing half of his face, symbolising the limitations of the children in the school. However, no matter how many obstacles exist in front of them, they can still shine bright despite any circumstances with the warmth of the sun. The body of Shine is mainly orange with figures in puzzle shapes. This signifies the power of collaboration to contribute to the development of our school. The key to the heart at the back of Shine means to open and explore the minds of our children. The dome shaped head of Shine replicates the school badge logo.
