Objectives

We aim to create opportunities for students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired from different subjects in practical contexts by fostering connections across the school curriculum. We also hope to promote student’s interests in learning through STEAM education, and cultivate attitudes and skills that are essential for the students’ life-long learning.

Aims

  • To cultivate students’ interests in STEAM activities in different subjects.

  • To enable students to integrate knowledge learned from different subjects and nurture their thinking skills, collaboration skills and problem-solving skills through different activities.

  • To provide opportunities for students to exhibit their strengths through these activities.

Experiential Activities

  • Cross-curriculum Activity Weeks:

    • With STEAM education as the core theme, students engage in inquiry-based and problem-solving activities under the trans-disciplinary learning mode.

  • Little Social Entrepreneur Environmental Programme:

    • By installing a smart water dispenser in the campus, students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to school to reduce the use of disposable water bottles, so as to promote the importance of environmental protection. At the same time, the programme also helps strengthen students’ creative thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Virtual-reality (VR) Experience:

    • Through participating in the Jockey Club Experiential Learning Project for Students with Special Educational Needs (JCELP) offered by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, students can experience different crucial yet rare occasions in daily life through virtual reality (VR) system, e.g., fire drill, dental check, etc. The project aims to help students master the skills needed to effectively manage different life challenges.

  • Grow Beyond Blue Project:

    • Through growing plants such as Chinese rain bell and woad in the aquaponic system and soil farming area in Miracle Garden, students can acquire knowledge about the ingredients for natural dye and the skills of natural dyeing. Students can experience STEAM elements, such as discovering pigments from plants, observing oxidation of objects, etc. Other than that, students can learn more about the industry of natural dye through visits, workshops and practical experiences, and learn about promotional strategies in promoting their own products.
